What this policy covers
This policy applies to information we collect when you visit pages on the Top10WeightLossPlan website, sign up for our newsletter, fill out a contact form, or interact with one of our quizzes or comparison tools. It does not cover the practices of third-party providers we link out to — once you click an external link, the destination’s own policy applies.
Information we collect
We try to collect as little as possible. Practically, we work with three buckets:
You give it to us
- Email address (newsletter sign-up)
- Quiz/comparison answers you submit
- Messages sent through the contact form
Your browser sends it automatically
- IP address and approximate region
- Browser, operating system, screen size
- Pages viewed and how long you spent on them
- The referring page or campaign that brought you in
Aggregate behavioural data
- Anonymous click patterns on rankings and CTAs
- Conversion confirmations from affiliate partners (whether a click led to a sign-up; never which medication, dose, or condition)
Cookies & tracking
We use a small number of cookies and similar storage mechanisms (local storage, pixel tags) for the following purposes:
- Strictly necessary cookies — remember interface choices such as a dismissed banner or a saved comparison list. Without these, parts of the site stop working.
- Performance cookies — let us count visits and see which articles are read all the way to the end. The data is aggregated, not tied to your name or email.
- Affiliate attribution cookies — placed by partner networks when you click an outbound CTA, so the partner can credit us if you sign up. These are governed by the partner’s policy.
You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings at any time. Doing so may break saved preferences and prevents us from earning attribution on your sign-up, but it does not block you from reading the site.
Analytics
We use a privacy-respecting analytics platform to understand which articles, rankings, and tools are useful. We deliberately:
- Do not transmit raw IP addresses to our analytics provider.
- Do not configure cross-site tracking pixels (no Meta Pixel, no TikTok Pixel, no LinkedIn Insight Tag).
- Aggregate page-view data into reports that do not identify individual readers.
Advertising
Top10WeightLossPlan does not run banner ads, retargeting campaigns, or sponsored placements. Our revenue comes from affiliate relationships disclosed in each article. If we ever introduce paid advertising, we will update this policy and clearly label any sponsored content before it appears.
Affiliate tracking
When you click an outbound CTA to a provider we cover, the destination platform may set its own cookie to credit your visit to Top10WeightLossPlan. The information passed back to us is limited:
- That a click occurred and (if you sign up) that a conversion happened.
- The campaign or article we referred you from.
We do not receive your name, email address, medical information, prescription details, or payment information from these partners. For details on what the partner itself collects, please review the privacy policy on their website.
Third-party services
The site relies on a small number of vendors to operate. Each one only receives the data it needs to do its job:
- Hosting & CDN — required to deliver pages; sees your IP address and browser headers.
- Email service provider — stores newsletter subscribers; only receives the email address you give us.
- Form processor — processes contact-form submissions and forwards them to our inbox.
- Affiliate networks — record outbound clicks and confirm conversions, as described above.
We do not sell or rent personal information to anyone for any purpose.
Email & contact handling
If you sign up for the newsletter we use your email address only to send you the newsletter. There is an unsubscribe link at the bottom of every issue; using it removes you immediately and erases your address from our active list within 30 days.
If you write to us through the contact form we will use your message and email address only to respond to you. We do not add contact-form senders to the newsletter list.
How long we keep data
- Newsletter subscribers — until you unsubscribe (then 30 days for compliance logging).
- Contact-form messages — up to 12 months after the last reply, then archived or deleted.
- Aggregated analytics — up to 24 months in summary form, after which only roll-up totals remain.
- Affiliate-attribution cookies — controlled by each partner network; typical lifetime is 30 to 90 days.
How we protect data
We follow industry-standard practices to safeguard the limited information we hold: encrypted transport (HTTPS), least-privilege access controls for our team, vendor selection that prioritizes SOC 2 / ISO 27001 attested providers, and routine review of access logs. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to minimize the data we hold so the consequences of any incident remain bounded.
Children’s privacy
The site is intended for adults aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If a parent or guardian believes a child has provided information through our site, please contact us using the link below and we will delete the relevant records promptly.
Your rights & choices
Depending on your location you may have the right to:
- Confirm whether we hold any personal information about you.
- Request a copy of that information in a portable format.
- Ask us to correct inaccurate data or delete it entirely.
- Opt out of any future processing for marketing purposes.
- Withdraw consent for any processing that relies on consent (such as the newsletter).
To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling sensitive requests.
International users
The site is operated from the United States, and any information collected is processed there. If you visit from outside the United States you should be aware that data-protection laws in the U.S. may differ from those in your home country. By continuing to use the site, you consent to the transfer and processing of your information in the United States.
Updates to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect new tools, new vendors, or evolving regulatory expectations. The “Last Updated” date above always reflects the current version. Material changes — for example, the introduction of paid advertising or a new category of vendor — will be flagged at the top of this page for at least thirty days before they take effect.
Privacy contact
For privacy questions, data-access requests, or to ask about a specific vendor, email [email protected] with “Privacy request” in the subject line.
